Benningham to Bellingham

After leaving Seattle we went to Bellingham, just south of the Canadian border. The weather was splendid and atmosphere grand. Apparently, it was the first time all year the sun had appeared for the greater part of the day, which made the energy among locals very positive. We went to a farmer’s market on Saturday and I was entertained by all I encountered. Some highlights include a dead barbie in the hotel parking lot, the tiger and wolf curtains (an ode to 3-wolf-moon t-shirts), pink plastic flamingos, shade, devoured smoked salmon (a local delicacy), dyed hair, an old man with really sweet glasses/shades, twin dogs, and an angry banana that made me a juice. Bellingham rocks! Go if you have never been.

Summer in Seattle

I went to Washington state over the weekend for a wedding and got to do a lot of stuff along the way to Bellingham for the wedding. Here are some images from time spent with my friend and Seattle photographer Mike Kane. We tried to go out on his boat, fixed his motor, drank beer and went out on his boat successfully. We caught a crab in the Peugot Sound and then rowed back to our put in for about an hour after the boat stalled in the locks. It was a great adventure. Blue skies broke through the gray weather in the afternoon, but I made a good choice to wear a snowboarding jacket to avoid being cold. Mike has fixed his boat and is out crabbing again.
